Very readable account that gets right to the heart of the conflict, certainly the opening stages where the author's role was critical. The main difference between these and some others I've read is that the author can write, it makes a pleasant change!
This is a personal account of the Falklands War written by someone who was involved in action in and around South Georgia and the Falklands after the landing at San Carlos. The diary is contemporaneous to the actions and very little of 30 years of hindsight has been injected, which I found a problem as I'd like to have known more about some of the characters he refers to and their post war activities; I also found that yet again I've read a long diary which doesn't have an index - is this a show more modern trend I have to get used to or am I just unlucky with my Xmas reading.! show less
