I liked the steam punk feel to it however just found I didn't really connect with the characters, Mia and Zaine seem like good people but I just felt we didn't get to know them well enough. Things pick up in the story once Mia goes into the factory and finds out how it is running and then you really feel for those in there. This is a good quick read to sit back and enjoy during the afternoon.

Serenity transfers to a university in Washington so she can get out in nature more than she could on the east coast. Walking one afternoon, she is warned by Ryland to stay out of the woods at night since it is dangerous. Signing up for a whitewater rafting trip, she is less than happy that Ryland is part of the trip. When disaster strikes, however, Serenity is glad of Ryland's help. Will he be able to protect her well enough to get some place safe? Where is Ryland going when he drops her at show more a safe place where people live who will see her home safely?

I liked this book. Ryland has a secret which he lets Serenity know of when she is in danger from the men in the woods. I liked how she just accepted that aspect of Ryland. I liked the trust developing between them. I found it astounding of how she ended up in Washington going to school while some of her new friends are trying to figure where she came from. I was glad when they gave into their attraction.

This is a good read. I will be tracking down the rest of this series.

I liked the characters well enough and the story line, but feel the that there could have been a little bit more guts to the whole thing. In saying that it was still a good read and got me hooked enough to look forward to the next book in the series.

Ok

I like the idea and how the story line goes, but the characters had no life to them. It was like they were on autopilot and just going through the motions.
