Surprisingly great in a lot of ways, but about halfway through, it makes a bad sidestep into a gimmicky and silly actionfest at Arkham Asylum (and why do all the villains conveniently mutate into animals apropos of their shticks?), and while it thankfully leaves this behind, never fully recovers afterwards, wrapping up with a fairly predictable final showdown without much plot to speak of. Even so, this is a very good animated film, which is respectful of both franchises, letting everyone show more shine without making anyone look dumb or inferior or act out of character. The jokes land quite well, the action is exciting, and all in all, this is a very fun ride. If not for the weaker Arkham detour, I might well have given this 4 stars, very impressive for what on paper sounds like a forced and ill-fitting crossover idea. show less
