Robin Oake

Heard Robin speak many times. An amazing authoritative and humble man. His character comes through in the book. Structured with Bible references, and suggested reflection, action, and prayer at the end of each structure, yet a very easy read. Could even be a 12 day devotional. The theme is in the title, and it would help those feeling powerless to know that this is the moment to trust God and ask, "What now?"

This Christian Police Biography is an interesting read. The author describes his entry to the service at the age of 19 and his journey up to the rank of Chief Constable and his retirement. His son followed in his footsteps but was sadly murdered whilst on duty dealing with a terrorist subject. As a former police officer I identified with many of the stories in this book although I felt that too much space was given to technical details/promotions/internal procedures that hold little interest show more for a lay reader. I was encouraged by the bold Christian witness of the author who was even known to give out tracts whilst on duty! How times have changed....

Recommended for Christian's in public service as an encouragement to be a bold witness. show less
