Good chronological list of Great Western landmarks up to 1985, followed by a bibliography and a chapter on 'collections of historic reference material' and lots more information such as Frome being 'the only surviving station with an overall roof of the traditional GWR style'. Other facts are listed: '1842, 13 Jun - the first railway journey by a reigning monarch. Queen Victoria travelled from Slough to Paddington', page 5. There are sections on distances from Paddington, contact numbers for show more stations etc all so much more easily available now on the internet. show less
