What stands out for me in this grim, yet highly entertaining tale is Briar Blackwood’s voice. Feisty, determined, always an underdog she finds her strength in the unlikeliest places. The author has created a highly entertaining tale of dark fantasy with a modern twist, a must read for all ages.
An interesting book. While the books historical sources are less than great, the books ideas and techniques for working with the 'familiars self', as its called in the book, was interesting. The rituals and exercises the book suggested can be and could be used for a number of animal related powers fairly easily. While its not by far the best or the greatest book of its subject, its not a bad book. With a little bit a salt taken, this book could be helpful read.

Initial thoughts are positive; I appreciate the emphasis on meditation. Started this last week.
