Unrequited love, all the longing, Persuasion vibes, swoony second chance romance? A Most Faithful Companion has it all in spades! Kasey Stockton beautifully delivers a unique twist on the Jane Austen classic with all the lovely nods to the original while still telling a clever, new story.

Nine years ago, Emma Darling chose her family’s wishes over her heart. She refused the only man she’s ever loved, only to end up orphaned & a companion to his kind aunt, Mrs. Buckley. While he joined the show more army, Emma carefully packed away her dreams of ever becoming a wife & mother, resigning herself to a safe, if lonely future.

Captain Owen Buckley never forgot Emma or the sting of her rejection. When he returns from India after nine long years, battle-worn and weary, he visits Buckley Place only to find Emma there as his aunt’s companion. Can they rekindle what was once lost, or will rumors and Emma’s seeming indifference destroy any chance at a future together?

I adored this story! Persuasion is a favorite of mine, and I loved all the clever nods to the classic while it still being something new & original. Having both Emma’s & Owen’s perspectives made all the mutual pining even better. Emma can hardly believe Owen is finally home or that a different future might still be possible. Meanwhile, Owen has no idea where he stands with her, whether she married, why she’s living with his aunt, or if there’s any hope left for them at all. There are so many unresolved issues & romantic tension between them slowly teased out throughout the story. I couldn’t wait for one of them to finally crack & admit their feelings. When it finally happens, it’s absolutely worth the wait.

I also loved Mrs. Buckley and her meddling ways, along with Owen’s encouraging friend. There are several twists that make the story unique, with just a touch of suspense woven in. The ending had me on pins & needles, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

If you love Persuasion or sweet Regency romance, highly recommend! Though part of a series, it’s easily read as a standalone. I received an advanced copy from the author, but also borrowed in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own & provided voluntarily.

Oh my—this series! Every book is an instant favorite, & A Foolish Proposal was absolutely divine. I adored Tristan’s story! From the first witty remark to the last, the back-and-forth between him & Caro was perfection. With both needing a marriage proposal, the tension between growing attraction & the need to marry wealthy was chef’s kiss. Kasey Stockton delivers all the charm, delicious banter, endearing characters, & sweet romance in this new favorite. Run—don’t walk—& grab show more this one!

After his twin brother marries, Tristan Shepherd feels the pressure mounting. One by one, the men he wagered with on a stormy ship voyage are finding love, & the last to marry owes the rest a tidy sum Tristan can’t afford. Determined to find a wife, he attends a ball with his friend James & comes face-to-face with James’s sister, Caroline (Caro), whom he hasn’t seen in years. She’s all grown up & more beautiful than ever. Naturally, Tristan can’t resist his teasing…which accidentally ruins her match. Feeling guilty, he proposes marriage, but she’d rather marry a toad. So, he offers to help her win back a fiancé, or find another, while she helps him secure a wife. But the sizzling attraction between them quickly turns his plans upside down.

Caro’s had a crush on Tristan for years, but his flirtatious ways convinced her he’d never be serious. Now, with her father’s poor business decisions forcing her to marry wealthy, she locks her heart against him, or tries to. When Tristan’s involved, resisting is easier said than done.

I loved this story! The tension crackled on every page, and I adored watching Caro & Tristan match wits. There are some surprising twists & turns as the story plays out & friends turn to more. That first swoonworthy almost kiss was almost as good as their first real kiss & I loved every moment. From masquerade balls at Vauxhall to rides in Hyde Park, this book felt like a love letter to the Regency Season. I also enjoyed seeing familiar faces & can’t wait for the next installment.

Highly recommend this amazing book & series. Each can be read as a standalone, but are best enjoyed in order. I received an advanced copy from the author, but also purchased a copy in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

I completely devoured this book! House party Regency romances are some of my favorite. I love the intimate setting & the underlying tension of close proximity. Kasey Stockton delivers a swoony, deliciously romantic, childhood friends to more romance in Rules of Courtship with that fun house party setting.

Ruth Wycliffe wants to marry for love. But with her parents pushing suitors at every turn & a childhood friend’s cousin vying for her hand, she’s come up with a list of rules her show more potential suitor must meet. Unfortunately the man whom she’s interested in goes against the rules she’s created. But, when she attends a house party with Oliver, her childhood friend whom she’s beginning to have feelings for, they strike a bargain to help each other find their potential mate.

Oliver Rose has been in love with Ruth for a while, but between his cousin Samuel who’s also in love with her & her pesky rules, he worries about revealing his feelings. Oliver desperately needs money to help his newly inherited estate survive. He needs to find a wealthy wife & even though Ruth would fulfill his every dream, he’s resigned himself to find someone at the upcoming house party. Watching Ruth interact with others & even his cousin Samuel, makes his handle on his feelings ever fleeting & once he unleashes them, there’s no going back.

I adored this story! I enjoyed seeing Ruth & Oliver dance around their feelings. They both try to interact with others at the party, but they can’t help gravitating to each other. That first kiss is explosive & the consequences pose yet another problem. I loved Ruth & her spunky, confident personality. I felt for Oliver who has a host of problems & is trying so hard to protect Ruth. But his feelings won’t be denied, & I loved how he needed Ruth & couldn’t keep from touching her when they were near.

It’s a delightful, passionate, kissing only romance that kept me quickly turning the pages! Highly recommend to Regency romance fans. Though part of a series, it’s easily read as a standalone. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. I received an advanced copy from the author, but also purchased in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

All the stars for this funny, endearing billionaire romance! I loved returning to Sunset Harbor for Cat’s & Noah’s story. Their romance had so many things I loved, a darling billionaire cinnamon roll hero, a funny mistaken remeet cute, long time secret crush, boss/employee forbidden romance, sizzling attraction, & a sweet closed door romance that I’ll love reading again and again!

Catalina Keene’s struggling to make ends meet at her & her uncle’s B&B. When she finds an exorbitant show more hospital bill her uncle’s kept hidden from her, she worries they’ll lose their beloved home & business. Just when circumstances seem impossible, she receives a job offer from the last person she expects, the uber rich billionaire Noah Belacourt. Cat has nothing but contempt for the Belacourts after Olive Belacourt bullied her in jr. high, but as she gets to know Noah, she finds a kind, thoughtful person who makes her question all her preconceived notions.

Even billionaires have challenges. Noah Belacourt’s returned to his family’s resort on Sunset Harbor Island after suffering a mental breakdown in front of his company’s investors. Hoping to get some much needed relaxation and a handle on his anxiety, he doesn’t expect to rescue the woman he’s had a secret crush on for years. Cat’s his kryptonite and when he discovers her financial difficulties, he finds a way to help her without damaging her pride by offering her a PA position. Suddenly all his dreams are coming true. Though a nerd at heart, this handsome hottie definitely gets under Cat’s skin. With her calming presence, he also finds the strength to overcome his family’s drama.

I loved Cat and Noah! There were definitely some Pride and Prejudice vibes on Cat’s part. She has some understandable anger towards the Belacourts and her prejudice runs deep. I loved all her cute billionaire nicknames for Noah like Bruce Wayne, Darcy, Elon, etc. Noah’s such a sweetheart! I enjoyed the way he was so aware of Cat and her needs. I also loved how his mental health struggles were portrayed in such a realistic, thoughtful way. The forbidden aspect to their boss/employee relationship was so fun in how they both struggled to not cross any lines.

There were so many things I loved:

La Croix water (I’m with Noah on this one!)
Photo shoot
Peanut the dog
First kiss
Blackberry picking
Nursing back to health
LOTR marathon
Nods to The Notebook
Private beach
Secret lair

This is definitely a mustread, perfect summer romcom! Can I just say how amazing this Falling For Summer series is. Each book has been an instant favorite and I can’t wait for more. I received an advanced complimentary from the author. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

*Audiobook update: I listened to the audiobook version & loved it! It’s a duet narration & I enjoyed both narrators. Duet narration is no much fun & brings the story to a whole new level. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing all the characters to life & I thoroughly loved listening.
