I couldn't resist the combination of an author whose fiction I've previously enjoyed and the title [b:Eat the Rich|59365775|Eat the Rich|Sarah Gailey|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1634486858l/59365775._SY75_.jpg|93538551]. It is not a remotely subtle allegory, but is extremely fun and executed really well. I found the art is evocative, with great use of colours and lettering. The plot is rapid and thrilling, the protagonist appealing. If you enjoyed show more the film Ready or Not, you'll like this too. It would make a delightful horror movie, in fact. show less
A half-baked high-concept book where wealthy people literally eat their servants with their servants' consent. Full benefits and health insurance come at a high cost now, you see, but the revolution is coming, you know. I dig the sentiment, but was bored by the silliness of the execution.
I think this book does a good job using metaphor to show how capital uses violence to coerce the working class to support the status quo under the guise of respectably and order. Unfortunately the narrative aspect isn't as strong. Most of the characters aren't well developed and the plot wraps up incredibly quickly.
Not bad, but would probably be more effective in a longer format.

Stunned.
Horrified by the context & implications on both sides of this story.
Well done and disturbing. A story that’ll stick in my head a long while
