A Cosy Christmas at Bridget’s Bicycle Bakery by Alex Brown was the last of my holiday reads. Pretty standard story although this time the single mother had three children who played active roles in the story. The funniest part of this one was that she kept referencing Bridgerton when she described the love interest. I haven't watched the series but am picturing chiseled jaw and good hair. The book is part of a series so will keep it in mind if I need a quick, feel-good read, but I am not show more compelled to continue it for now. show less

The Secret of Orchard Cottage was a lightweight, enjoyable, but somewhat predictable story aimed at a female readership, ideal for the beach. This was a good holiday read!

The Great Summer Sewing Bee is by a new-to-me author Alex Brown. I started this in April 2024 but unfortunately I struggled to get into this story; it just did not pull me in. I left it for a while and came back to it thinking I hadn't been in the mood for that kind of story when I originally started it, but very quickly decided it just wasn't for me.

I did manage to finish the story but did not bother with the extract from A Postcard from Italy
