I've always wanted a daddy to love me, even at my naughtiest. My reputation as a brat is one, I've earned, but I wish it wouldn't scare away all my potential partners before they get to know me. I am so much more than my lack of impulse control, if only someone would stick around for longer than a scene or two. Luke is the first person I've played with in a while who can handle me at my worst. He gets me in a way most Doms don't bother trying. The only problem is, he's my best friend's show more brother.

The book certainly has a lot of steam and with it comes a fair number of sweet and tender moments between Monty and Luke as their casual summer fling deepens into something more meaningful.

Monty is a great character. He’s smart, and funny, plus he’s got lots of enthusiasm. I believe that he may be the sweetest “brat” I’ve ever encountered. I liked that as the story went on, that we get to see him "come into his own" in a variety of ways. There is also low angst in the story, which is always a good thing.

I don’t want to minimize Monty’s fears that he won’t ever get to have a permanent "Daddy". He has had plenty of reasons and past experiences to justify that fear, but while he may miss all the signs that Luke is serious about keeping him almost from the start, most readers won’t, and that makes for an even more enjoyable reading experience, getting to watch him slowly realize that he is absolutely wanted and valued, and he’s getting what he has always desired, with someone who loves and fits with him beautifully.

Luke was an excellent "Daddy", as well as a really good person. He’s careful with everyone. His relationship with his stepbrother, who’s also Monty’s best friend, is a good example of this, but he’s especially sweet, gentle and kind with Monty. He always took the time to listen to what Monty had to say and also catches on to what he doesn’t always say. He attends to his "boy's" needs with such care and patience. The two guys are definitely great together...however, the real essence of their bond is the emotional one, and how being together clearly brings that special "something" that they both need.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read, with great protagonists who are building a beautiful relationship together, and an awesome cast of supporting characters, along with a RACK conscious, kink community. (RACK - Risk Aware Consensual Kink) The only thing that I didn't especially care for, and it's a very minor thing...was the cover picture. Nothing against the model, but he just didn't fit the description we got in the story of the character of Monty.

Anyone that has read my reviews for the past dozen or so years, knows that I love a good ghost story and I also read a truckload of M/M Romances so this being of both genera's I thought, "okay...why not"? Two for the price of one. I had a few reservations, but it started off fairly well. Both characters were likeable, especially Dan. The flow of the book was easy, so no problems there. For me the issue I had as I got further into it was, I simply seemed for some reason to lose interest in show more the story. Dan came across as somewhat of a fraud. He says he’s all about helping ghosts find closure and move on, yet he has zero skills as a medium...not even the basic ones. How can he help them move on without the ability to contact or communicate with them? Does he just show up and hope that the ghosts do also and then just wish they will magically leave the place they are haunting? He even calls a well-known medium who rather harshly judges him, to help and then Dan himself says he "feels like an imposter"...and he then ignores her advice. This should have just been called a paranormal book that happens to feature two guys...one that is gay, and one is Trans....which, by the way was handled very well. However, that aside, the romance was almost nonexistent, except that each chapter started out with them "thinking" about one another and how they each felt... but it was mostly all the reasons why they COULDN'T be together. They did go on one semi date. I gave it 3 stars as it had the bones of a really good story and did start off with my interest piqued but ultimately it just couldn’t hold that much interest in the end. I'm not sure if I will try this series again. show less
Is it too much to ask for a whirlwind romance that sweeps me off my feet? I’m fed up with one-off scenes at the club. Online dating has become an endless conveyor belt of rejection. Enter Jax, the "picture-perfect" friend with all the benefits I crave, and none of the drama I can’t stand.
I like Alex Silver and own many of her books, and while this wasn't a bad book by any means, it was among my "least favorites" of all the many, many M/M Romances that I own and have read. There were a show more lot of characters, because of Connor's huge family...but the majority of the story takes place between Jax and Connor.

Jax was an interesting character. He is a genderqueer Dom that has his own photography business. He takes both regular photos and kinky boudoir shots. Connor is a trans man struggling to find what he is looking for through online dating. He found what he was looking for when he hooked up online with Jax.

Although this is the fourth book in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Some of the characters do cross over...but it doesn't take anything away from the story. The interactions between Connor and Jax was really sweet. I liked how they were able to talk openly with each other and define how their relationship was going to work and how they themselves wanted to be defined. Thet respected one another's boundaries with no questions asked. Some of their scenes together were very really intense. I don't know if that would be consider a "trigger"...but just a word of warning.

The entire story was sweet, and Gia was one of the best characters in the whole thing. Gia is a dog. Even though it wasn't my favorite M/M Romance or even my favorite Alex Silver story, I did enjoy reading it.

Service Call - Alex Silver - (Canada)
Summer of Adventures Book #3
Genera: M/M Romance/Daddy, little
5★
Can a chance encounter lead to true love? A one-night stand with the sexy plumber who saves me from a leaky toilet sounds more like the setup to a corny porno than the secret to a lasting romance. Still, I can’t get Tate out of my head after he rocks my world. When he walks into my life again where I least expected to find him, it’s got to mean something.
Service Call is the third book show more in the "Summer of Adventures" series. The first book in the series, Knotty Boy, really should be read first, as some characters over-lap.

This is the story of Rory and Tate. Rory is a trans "Daddy" who has just moved to the city. On his first night there he finds that he is desperately in need of the services of a plumber and Tate answers his call and ends up having to shows up, as everyone else was out on other service calls. Tate is not only a plumber, but he is also a "little". To make his life possibly even more difficult; he has dyslexia. Things go well and Tate's problem is simply solved...but more importantly...Rory and Tate really hit it off. They agree to try going out but only one time. After this supposed to be "one-night stand", they meet again...at a place where they least expected to see each other. After what had happened with his last "Daddy" Tate wants to take it very slow and Rory isn't sure how Tate feels about him.

Rory had only just started to take the chance of being a "Daddy" again and he can't believe that he just might have been lucky enough to find the perfect "boy"...and it was just by chance. These two were so sweet and caring together. The patience that Rory showed Tate and the trust they had in each other was perfect. I really loved them as well as their story. It was sweet, sexy, and full of wonderful feelings. As with all of the many books that I've read by Alex Silver, this one was delightful and very well written.
