This book has been my number one read so far this year and I honestly don't know what to say that will not ruin this book when you read it, but this book had destroyed me and put me back together in the best way. This is Fiction with a capital F and a book that is lingering in my mind since I finished last week. I am still sadly smiling and processing this book and yes, even still getting teary eyed over this today. I love that Henry and Angie and Tessa are always themselves as a caregivers show more and protectors, that they try to live their lives authentically and honor that connection to family in the face of all life throws at them. Not to be coy, but they are Love...yes another capital which really says something about how Stark wrote this boom. They are the ones who accept, support, and are present for all the people in their lives and they have all stolen different parts of my heart because of it. I know this is sounds awkward, but this book showcases so many aspects, types, and levels of Love that it reminds me from page one to how hard and heartbreaking, how precious and unique, how heart healing and soul empowering Love is and how fierce we have to be in the of protection Love.

If reading great, albeit heavy, literature empowers you to face Life and you are willing to look into the face of life's darkness to discover the power and beauty of the Human Heart, you have to check this book out!

Strong debut novel. Characters that earn respect from the reader and demand it from one another. Resist the urge to label this a "romance" - it's about love at its most difficult and redemptive.
