Hardy recounts his lifelong fanatical support for the St Kilda Football Club in a highly comical fashion. He begins in the 1970s, when Saints fans consoled themselves with the deeds of Trevor Barker while suffering many honourable losses and continues through to the 1997 Grand Final. Hardy provides some wonderful reminiscences about footy cards, the joys and terrors of suburban football grounds, schoolboy football heroics, the colourful language from the outer and the toe-breaking plastic show more football. Hardy also offers insights into how the Moorabbin move was a successful one for the club, helping to attract new supporters from Melbourne's family dense south-eastern suburbs. An entertaining read, even if some of the stories are far from original. show less
