You know the expression "so many books, so little time"? This series is so worth the time! Fun, loyal, slightly zany characters that one would definitely want for friends were they real. Quirky situations that are so much fun to read about getting into and out of. (Picture one of Keats' pant-laughs there.) I eagerly await each new one, and this one was no different. I devoured it--no pacing oneself with these. And now, I'm forlornly looking at my Kindle, wishing for the next in the series. show more Write quickly please. show less
Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry. 'Cause Ivy is on the loose and on the trail, with plenty of suspects to investigate: rival web masters, displeased advisees, disgruntled employees, dangerously cranky hillfolk, you name it. On top of all that, is the newest member of Ivy's flock injured? She's got to find out--come hell, high water (not Keats' favorite) or quagmire(y) swamps (also not a favorite). Nothing stops Ivy on an animal mission. Come along for edge-of-your seat action!
I love this series, and I can't wait to see what animal Ivy rescues next!
Ivy agrees to help her enterprising twin nephews with a sheep grazing business, but things get out of hand when a famous singer returns to her native Clover Grove and someone dies abruptly. Ivy has her hands full trying to investigate, but not investigate--to keep the peace with Kellan, plus trying to find a lost lamb’s mom. (Ivy comes up with the greatest names for her animals.) Edna, Jilly, and the oldsters mafia show more are around to lend plenty of support.
The mysteries are always interesting, but what keeps me eagerly awaiting each new installment in this series are the characters and their relationships. I love seeing them grow and deepen. What new tidbit are we going to learn about Edna or Gertie or some other Clover Grove resident? What new animal is Ivy going to come in contact with and/or rescue, and how are they going to interact with other farm residents? Plus I just want to soak up time with Keats and Percy. show less

What a lovely surprise Christmas confection! The spotlight is on a different Galloway sister, and we learn more about her. It astounds me how Ellen weaves tidbits of family history, amazing animal rescues and murder (never gory though) together to form such enchanting stories. Don't want to give anything away except to say that this is another fun visit with our favorite Hill Country folks.
