Great autobiography by actor Carleton Carpenter who I remember best as dueting with Debbie Reynolds on Aba Daba Honeymoon in Two Weeks With Life. Carpenter describes his growing up in New England, his time in the Seabees during WWII, his time in Hollywood, and his life on the stage (his first love). However, he is also a songwriter and author. A very interesting book of someone who has managed to make a living on the stage.
