The ending is rather unsatisfactory and abrupt, and a lot of the gags are juvenile, awkwardly dated, or both -- but I have to admit, I love everything else about this film. I'm sure nostalgia glasses play a part in that, but I'm uncharacteristially unable to step outside that and view it critically without them -- I'm too thoroughly entertained every time I see it to mind the occasional cringe-worthy moment.
2024 movie #31. 2023. The obsessive-compulsive Mr. Monk is back in a reunion of a show that's been off the air for some 14 yrs. If you liked the original show, then you'll love this. As usual it isn't so much about the crime but how he solves it.
