The Man In Dugout by Leonard Koppett

Quite possibly the finest biographical book I've ever read, regardless of subject. Well researched, and often supplemented by Koppett's personal knowledge of his subjects; in his long sportswriting career he got to know many major league managers. He wrote well, too.

A good book for baseball novices, but also some info for die-hards... not included of course are any modern day ways of breaking down games and talent, it's a little dated for that.
