Edie Brickell

I haven't seen the musical, but I heard about it on one of the late-night shows. It is set in 1920s and 1940s Asheville, North Carolina. The accents are right for the region -- at least they sound like my father's who grew up north of there.

I'm quickly developing favorites after having it on nearly continuous play all day of its release. If You Knew My Story tugs at my heartstrings. Bright Star lifts me up. Whoa, Mama has my toes twitching. What Could Be Better is a sweet love song. Sun Is show more Gonna Shine Again is another cheer-bringing song (with gorgeous harmonies). I Had a Vision tugs at my heart -- it is so sad. The Finale left me feeling that all is right in the world.

I am glad that I got the CD. The booklet has a lot of information in it, including lyrics. show less
