I don't generally read much horror, but I make an exception every year in October. And since I live in the Northeastern US, I wanted this book as son as I found out about it!
I liked it a lot. It really does have 100 stories in it, all of them 2-3 pages long, and some form or another of creepy. That's about all they have in common, though! The tales range widely within the various kinds of horror, and the editor thoughtfully ordered them so that the styles and content are thoroughly mixed show more up.
The stories themselves varied a lot; some were very creepy indeed, but others didn't work as well for me. I think that would be true for everyone, and probably my favorites and yours would be different! They are all written competently, and many are much better.
I do have to mention that at some points in the printing process, lines were omitted from several of the stories. Given the extreme brevity, this could really throw off my enjoyment.
All in all, this is one of the better horror books I've read in the past few Octobers. I think it's best suited for those who like some creepiness, but who are not serious horror buffs. show less
