A body is found inside a wardrobe in a hotel room. This is the start of a double mystery, the first in the Inspector Pointer series.
The book was written in 1924 or ‘25, and is quite dated. But that’s a large part of its charm. The reader gets a terrific picture of life in that decade. Most of the characters are a bit cardboard, but two or threestand out as nicely developed. The twin mysteries, which are somewhat connected, provide plenty of turns for the reader to delight in.
Is this a show more great classic of the genre? No, but it’s a great and undemanding little read for any fan of Golden Era mysteries. show less
