Crawl by Audrey Rush
I really love Audrey’s characters and the sheer insanity that these encounters encompass. It’s depraved and sensuous and you I just eat it up. Cash and Remedy were so hot together and honestly the only reason why it wasn’t rated higher for me was that it felt a bit jumbled up with the flow of the story, pacing was off a bit to where it interfered with my enjoyment but then it went full speed and I was 100% on board. Even that being said I’ll always read what Audrey writes, this just show more happens to be my least favorite of her books. Deliciously depraved ! show less
Dead Love was previously a duet that is now combined into this title. I do see some leftover threads tying the books together that could have been left out but overall doesn’t take away from the story. This was a dark tour de force of trauma, healing, unconventional relationships, depravity and dissection of the human mind.
It hinges on internal dialogue but while there is minimal conversations between Kora and Vincent the personal growth and their own relationship between each other grows show more leaps and bounds as they discover what makes each other tick. Dual POVs that has the captor as a main voice is always interesting and Rush did a fantastic job.
Don’t go into this book expecting this to be a smutty read. There are intense sex scenes however I feel they are there for plot points and growth vs making the reader feel a little sassy. There are a lot of intense moments however they were pertinent to the story and not gratuitous.
If you love intense feels from a psychopath stalker and the exploratory angle of healing trauma from extreme situations this would be your next read. show less

Skin by Audrey Rush
Skin was a book I was highly looking forward to as I’m a fan of Audrey’s work and her depravity and honesty are something I’ve always loved. Being an avid horror fan I couldn’t wait to read this. Teddy, our MC, is approached with the ultimate taxidermy project that he didn’t know he wanted but now is something he needs. I really enjoyed his compulsions and methodologies to quell his need to kill, snuff and dead things have seemed to work up until now.
The books premise and ideas show more were really solid, you can tell research went into how to actually, possibly, maybe(?) taxidermy a person so they feel real. It was wild. Teddy’s mind was crazed as he kept going further and further down the rabbit hole to validate what he was doing and eventually just goes all the way, in various routes.
I felt, however, like I was “apart” from the story. Never fully immersed into Teddy’s mind or the story as it was swiftly escalating through the storyline. I would have loved a bit more depth into his character since he was such an intriguing killer. For such a unique premise I was hoping for more comprehensive gory descriptions to enrich the story but it felt a bit rushed and vacant in that department. show less

Skin by Audrey Rush
What drew me to this book in the first place was the cover, damaged barbie with percaline doll stuffing through the cracked pieces of the body on the picture. I made a TikTok video before I started the book and kept talking about the cover; I noted that I knew the book wasn't about barbies...
Teddy Wright is messed up in the head, he tries to convince himself that he is normal while speaking to himself through his thoughts. Every bad thought he has, he always tries to convince himself that show more he can be normal or try to direct himself from doing bad things. (I think we all do this in reality, convincing ourselves that we aren't doing something bad or telling ourselves not to do something because it would be wrong).
This book by Audrey Rush is an enthralling short read about a man who specializes in taxidermy since he was very young and continued creating a business for himself since Middle/High school. He is one of the best where he lives. One day a lady comes knocking at his door but he only does intakes once a week and there is a note on the front door that explains this. He has an app on his phone where he can see who is at the door and what intrigues him is the cardboard box she has with her.
Read this book and follow Teddy into his deepest, darkest desires. Experience this immaculate horrorific, smutty-snuffy, erotic horror novella--I promise you won't regret it ;)
