A sweet book, well-written, if a bit simplistic, as per another review, but I still liked it. The relationship between the friends is important, and what I liked is that even though circumstances change, the 3 friends make a decision to keep their friendship and not let it die. The romance part is almost secondary, but it completes the story for me. I will probably read the other two, just to see what happens.
The book description is as follows:

"Purity Zyetta is about to find out if the 27-day job interview she just endured will land her the position as Events Coordinator at The Kids' Place. Her future hangs in the balance. Not only because she desperately wants the job, but because board member Alex McCallister has found his way into her thoughts and dreams.

Will Purity be able to trust a man again after what Derek Worthington put her through? Even a restraining order hadn't kept him from show more contacting her and making menacing threats. And, he was still out there somewhere, waiting.

Is it possible to run into the arms of love, even when your common sense tells you not to? Purity believes it is. Together with her friends, Courtney and Meg, Pure will soon find out that change requires a strong spirit and a willingness to learn from the past and embrace the future."

The author Merri Hiatt obviously has a true gift with words. She drew me in with her character descriptions in such a way that I really cared deeply about each and every one of them. I found her writing style accessible and engaging. With its classical simplicity and unpretentious charm, "Purity" is an entrancing tale that I would recommend highly to anyone.

Once again, Merri has created characters with depth and woven their stories together like a beautiful tapestry. Wonderfully written and full of unexpected twists and turns. "Meg" is a must read!
"When Alyson has a chance encounter with an old family friend, she is given a journal written by her mother--a woman she has never met before. Who is Abigail Rawlings and why does she believe Aly is her daughter?

Gerhad Rawlings made a scarred promise of allegiance to the forces of evil--not only for himself, but for his heir, Julian. An accord that could not be broken. Blood ties run deeper than tree roots--sometimes too deep.

As the darkness begins to insinuate itself into the marrow of show more their bones, paths would need to be chosen, alliances formed and long buried truths revealed.

Can Alyson learn to embrace the shadow, knowing that if there is a shadow, then there is also light?"
