I really enjoyed how the author tied historical and present day stories together with philosophy, archaeology, intrigue, and a quest for mysteries beyond the human experience. This is the first book I have read by Tom Harper and it was hard for me to put it down.
An interesting story about the myths of Greece - action packed and fairly fast paced. Books like this make me wonder just how much we never hear about regarding ancient artifacts being found...
That was a great read. Full of action, suspense, war, history, religious fervor, life, death and throughout it all a mystery that was truly surprising and suspenseful, “Knights of the Cross” by Tom Harper was genuinely engaging and pleasurable. Yes, the war scenes lacked the carnal meat of other authors and there was a blatant error in the timeline that annoyed the heck out of me. Even so, Mr. Harper’s historical accuracy and his suave fluidic storytelling aptitude was a delight. Mr. show more Harper is an author I will definitely look for while perusing the shelves at my next visit to the bookshop. show less
I am a a lover of all maritime and Napoleonic wars fiction and I have to say, although this first installment in the series is a bit lighter and not as serious as many others, this is truly a delightful romp and nothing but swashbuckling fun. This book has everything you need for jolly good entertainment. Action, adventure, romance, espionage, intrigue, mystery, mischief and mayhem. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. !! Wonderful real believable characters, a hero you just have to love with all show more his charm, failures and flaws, a story you can't put down from page one to the end. Bravo for Edwin Thomas show less
