I received a MOBI.file copy of this book from the book’s publisher through a giveaway they had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.
Despite my parents being Christian, I essentially had a secular upbringing as a young girl. Of course, we attended church, but it was on a semi-regular schedule. When my mother would read me a story at bedtime, it would be a secular one like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and the like, but never anything biblical. I didn’t possess a passion show more for sharing the words of the Lord until I had published my first two Christian books at age 69, which inspired me to become a Christian blogger. Being a rather voracious reviewer of Christian books, which had been the inspiring reason for my becoming a Christian author, I’m leaving the writing of this review to my inner child.
Being a young Christian child, while I like listening to the stories straight out of the Bible, I find the words too hard to understand and too confusing at my young age. That is why I loved the biblical stories that this book contains from the Old Testament.
Gone are all the confusing words and too long stories, which have been thoughtfully replaced by the same stories written in a way young Christian children like myself can understand and appreciate. The stories are complete, with the heart of each story still intact. The stories are told in a way to allow children like me to begin to know and understand the Lord and have our faith in the Lord to increase with each story.
The only thing I found disrupting about how the book is presented is how the stories and the prayer that goes with each story have been separated into separate parts of the book instead of simply coming at the end of this story on the same day.
This is why my inner child and I have given this book 5 STARS.

A mix of Bible stories and simple prayers geared towards small children, this book was informative, moving, and age-appropriate. An engaging work for you to read along with your child so you can both learn together.

This book is a simple "read a passage and answer a few questions" style of Bible study. There's nothing wrong with that and it gives children the chance to look at Exodus in small increments. The disappointing part is that the questions are almost completely factual instead of diving deeper into meaning. Here's an example:

3. What color shall they use to make the priestly garment?
a. Red
b. Scarlet
c. Gold
d. Blue

Most of the questions fall into this factual category and while that does check to show more see if the quiz taker read the passage, it doesn't do much to study a deeper meaning. The title definitely made me think the study would hit a little deeper. show less

I received this audiobook in exchange for an HONEST review. I have two children in the target age group for this audiobook (4 to 8 yrs old) so I thought I would give it a try. The stories were great and focused on Jesus' life. I didn't like that the stories were broken down into 2 minutes chunks (+/- a few seconds). My kids ready a lot and listen to audiobooks in the car all the time...they are used to listening to long narrations (1 to 2 hours or more at a time). These stories are broken show more down into these small chunks to be listened to one a day. Between each chunk of story, the narrator says ..."DAY 25", "DAY 56". It was a bit repetitious and got annoying after a while. Overall, my kids enjoyed the stories but they too mentioned they wished the stories were not broken down they way they were. show less
