An enriching and interactive children's devotional that great for preschoolers and kindergartners, this work incorporates Biblical quotes, contemporary correlations, and coloring pages into positive lessons. A good introductory choice for family collaboration and discussion.

A lovely children's book that introduces young readers to different birds and their sounds, this work is both whimsical and informative (includes an excellent age appropriate explanation between a bird call and bird song). Beautiful artwork as well. Great choice for a book to take on a walk.

A inspiring children's book that encourages young readers to travel to other places and explore other cultures in the world but also serves as a gentle reminder to follow your dreams (even your travel dreams). The artwork complemented the story very well and I loved the muted/soft color palette. My daughter enjoyed learning about another city and culture and she admired the characters too. We'll definitely want to try the other journeys in this series.

My child and I both enjoyed this playful but meaningful story with its silly and fantastic illustrations that enhanced and highlighted acceptance and inclusion. She liked it so much that we had to read it again right after the first time.

A good choice for children just learning to read, my child and I both found it entertaining. The illustrations were adorable and fun, the text was easy for us to decode, and we were happy to see the book is part of a series so we could try other works by this author.

A supernatural contemporary romance that has a good premise, but would benefit from a bit more werewolf development (there's just not enough for shifter romance readers) and fleshing out a few pivotal scenes. There's lots of potential, just needs a little polish to get there. I do like the setting, the characters, and the plot though.

The second novel in the series, this historical Scottish romance is a quick and easy read that can be read as a stand-alone as easily as it can be read in order of release. Unlike most romance novels that are part of a series, this one takes place at roughly the same time as the events in the first book, just in a different location. The MCs are both a bit quiet and misunderstood, dutiful but also a little adventurous, The supporting characters are likeable with kind and humorous dialogue (including one of the nicest MILs ever written). If you enjoyed book one, then you'll like book two. I will definitely look for book three to find out just how that fire started and how the three sisters' stories will end.

The second book in the series, this steamy contemporary romance is a strong follow-up with a kind single mom trying to protect her family and an innocent bad boy who wants to help her. Both sweet and naughty the romance and storyline flow easily and we learn more about the dark sire of the King siblings. Enjoy with a porter!

I absolutely adore this author's Lily Larkin cozy mystery series, so I wanted to try out another work in a different genre and series. I didn't connect as easily with the MCs in this contemporary romance, but if you like a little family drama mixed with a relatively clean romance, this one may be up your alley. Both MCs are pretty emotionally intense but seem to still be learning how to navigate those negative feelings. I may go back and read the first book in the series just to see these characters from a different perspective. For contemporary romance readers.

The complex but cohesive mystery and the small-town worldbuilding in this YA thriller is pretty phenomenal and it's a definite page-turner. The characters may not all be likeable, but they were authentic. Dark and gritty but satisfying. The book gives off some serious The Faculty (minus aliens) and Nancy Drew vibes. This novel is the first by this author I have read, but I will definitely pick up other works now. For YA mystery/thriller fans.

4 Stars on premise and worldbuilding and creative reinterpretation of classic fairy tale(s), especially the quality of Tek rhymes and riddles.
3 Stars on writing flow and inconsistent pacing.

I enjoyed this addition and finale to a wonderfully fun adapted fairy tale series and was happy with the author's choice of modified tales and characters. There was a section about a third into the story that dragged, but if you liked the previous works, it's worth it in the end to push through. Bittersweet closure.

The first book in a spicy contemporary romance series, this novel is the first book I've read by this author, and I loved it. I enjoy finding new authors that stand out in a genre. The story arc is a one-night-stand to a HEA, think good girl from a nice family with a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks and a heart of gold theme. The setting and supporting characters are your charming small-town posse with feuding families but there's a depth to the story one doesn't always find in racy romance. The author touches on some serious subplots, but nothing that screams trigger warnings (unless super steamy sex scenes are not your cup of tea). For spicy contemporary romance fans. I'll definitely read book two.

A precious children's storybook with illustrations reminiscent of Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit stories and with rhyming text, this work is the first in a series.A good gift option for bunny lovers or around the Easter holidays, my daughter liked it so much, we had to read it twice. Will look out for the next book.

Loved it! If you enjoyed the previous books in this series, you're going to want to follow up with this one too. The locale is different, but the sense of community is still there (not only briefly with the Scilly community, but with the new temporary one within the apartment building in London). Even though I hope the story gets back to the isles soon, perhaps in a couple of books, the change of scenery was fun and perfectly timed. After the tragic loss at the end of the prior novel, the lighthearted Clue version of Rear Window here keeps the audience entertained. Readers also learn more about the MC's background (her family specifically). I can't wait to the next one. Great book for a Spring read.

Dr. Seuss meets Alice in Wonderland in a fantastical story about Bigfoot and a bunny compatriot. Whimsical and adventurous, I would suggest this book for preteens or tweens, not younger children, as it may not keep their interest as easily. Fun, but not logical.

Ordeal at Orleans is the fifth book in a YA historical Sci-fi adventure series and I'm still loving it. This work not only depicts another world-famous battle, but also portrays one of the most familiar female historical figures of all time. The battle itself is in less detail than previous books, but the author focuses more on the various groups and overall treatment of women during this time period. The story arc also spends more time in present day and many relationships rise and fall (let's hope the triangle is eliminated at some point in a future novel). Looking forward to the next book in the series and seriously, love the coverart!

4.5 Stars for the exotic locale and new folklore characters introduced (although we do miss the small magical town, a sea worthy change of scenery was a nice break).
4 Stars for the mystery. Would have liked more excursion descriptions, but the overall story had a lighthearted Death on the Nile feel to it.
Looking forward to the next one, love this series.

After reading several retirement books, this one did offer some insightful information (and new to me) that would be very helpful for someone who is within a few years of retirement that's not included in other books. In the ebook version, this work also includes multiple links and articles for further research that are intriguing. Although I would like to see more scenarios and suggestions specifically for singles retirement planning, overall, this one is worth the time to check it out.

One of the best short-story steampunk collections I've read in a while, if you're a fan of sci-fi, this work will not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the stories included, but The Troll King was my favorite. Beautiful cover art too. I would definitely pick up works by this author in the future.

A good premise, but a little coherence would help. I love the idea of time travel to introduce small children to ancient civilizations and history, but the historical summary for some of the cultures included were a little too generalized. Keep at it though, there's plenty of potential here.

Although this book is the 8th in the series, the Barn Identity was the first novel I've read in it and by this author. It was easily read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed the broad range of topics intermingled into the plot (home remodeling and restoration, megachurches, plant-based restaurants, farms, podcasts, and many more) as well as the MC and her crew. The lead detective seemed to openly include the MC in formal police procedures more than was believable, but hey, it's fiction. A quick and easy and fun cozy. I'll be looking for other works not only in this series now, but also by this writer in general.

The second book in an urban fantasy series, this was the first one for me. Although it could be read as a stand-alone, reading the first book beforehand may be best. A cozy mystery with some surprises and interesting magical worldbuilding, it did take some diligence to get through the first few chapters. However, once beyond the should I or shouldn't I part, it's smooth sailing and an interesting read.

This bilingual children's book is beautiful, creative, educational, and fun. The story is relatable no matter your culture or background, passing down wisdom from one generation to the next. The artwork is simplistic but engaging and works well with the text. Even though the Arabic is past my skill level, this work is a good option for bilingual kids or language students of any age. There's also a great games section at the end.

A positive and inclusive children's early reader book, this work is inspiring, playful, and meaningful. The characters are all different (whether by choice or by mother nature) and each animal stays true to themselves and illustrate how they have overcome an obstacle or a preconceived "norm." The artwork complements the story too. My kindergartener enjoyed it as well.

A colorful children's book about the life cycle of a Monarch Butterfly, this book includes playful artwork and an informative page at the end. I strongly suggest the color of the text is changed in the ebook to be more clearly visible as I'm not even sure if I was able to read all of the text. Nice font and overall message, but the words blend into the background too easily. Lots of potential though.

Magical characters encourage the MC of this children's book to try to overcome shyness so she can meet new friends. For early readers, especially those who like fairies and forest animals. I love the colors of the artwork and my kid enjoyed the story.

A funny but reflective story of the author's journey and insights into motherhood, there are important points made in each section along with other successful single mother stories too. Only downside is I would have preferred the work to be a little longer and more in depth, but a good book all the same, especially for newer moms who may feel alone.

An early reader's book about consequences of nice and naughty behavior that is amusing and lighthearted. Set in Winter during a snowman building competition, the book follows two boys, one who listens and works with his family, and one that lets jealousy get the better of him and his cat. My kindergartener enjoyed it, especially while snow was falling outside here too. 3.5 Stars, bumped up to 4 Stars based on my child's opinion.

An extraordinary contemporary cozy murder mystery, this novel is set in a southern small-town and has a quirky cast of likeable (and questionable) characters that makes you wish this stand-alone was a series introduction. The witty and occasionally snarky banter adds light to some serious themes, and it's intriguing that many characters are attempting a second chance at life in this little corner of the world (while others seek to escape). I appreciate the inclusion of a hearing impaired child character as well.

An entertaining children's story that easily sets up an opportunity to introduce a conversation about honesty. The text is fun and rhymes without breaking the flow and the artwork complements the written work well. My child laughed throughout.
