The Armorer’s Course DVDs from American Gunsmithing Institute show complete disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly. All parts are removed and cleaned, then reassembled. This is not just field stripping your weapon.
. When detail stripping a weapon for the first time, it is not unusual to wind up with hidden springs, etc. to suddenly fly across the room, perhaps never to be seen again. Watch this DVD, and you won’t be surprised.
In many jurisdictions, (including the US) unregistered show more firearms have to be registered before they can be repaired by a gunsmith. These DVDS show how to make most needed repairs. You’ll learn which parts are most likely to break or wear out, so you can have spares on hand.
This AGI video is even better than most. It makes extensive use of cutaway rifles and bolts. All models from the 1889 through the 1898 are covered, as well as the Czech vz. 24. It also shows a detachable magazine modification that I didn’t know about.
Brooks also makes good book recommendations, which I haven’t seen on previous AGI DVDs.
