I liked this book for two reasons. The first reason I liked this book is because of its illustrations. The illustrations do a wonderful job at describing the text. This book is a book of rhyme so the text is very interesting and different. The illustrations help the reader to make sense of the rhyme. For example, one rhyme included in the book is “sit on a flea’s knees.” This is an uncommon phrase and could be hard for children to picture. The illustration is detailed and shows a man show more sitting on a giant flea. The second reason I like this book is because of the writing. The book is well paced and flows very well. Each page contains a new rhyme that allows the book to continue smoothly. “Share a pear with a hungry bear. Bake a cake for your favorite snake.” This is taken from two consecutive pages from the book. It flows very well and slows the reader to get into the rhythm of the book. The books does not have a storyline but it draws you into rhyme and makes you want to participate show less
