Michel Faraday was born in the village of Newington. He left school when he was thirteen years old, and then he worked as message boy in a book and newspaper shop. Then he started to work as a bookbinder. 1813 he became assistant technician to Davy at the Royal Institution. In 1820, he discovered carbon tetrachloride. He married Sarah Barnard in 1821. He was elected to the French Academy of Sciences in 1823. He discovered many things following the next few years such as, benzene, invention show more of heat-proof glass, the principle of the electric motor, the principle of transformer, and the principle of dynamo. He died in 1867 at his house at Hampton Court. After reading Faraday’s biography, I admired him and appreciated what he brought to life. show less
