The cover caught my eye, the blurb intrigued me, but Tuli's masterful storytelling is what kept me captivated for hours. I knew going in this was going to be one of those love it or hate it books, and I adored it. Lor is an amazing MC, she's smart, strong, and determined, even in the face of overwhelming odds and a situation she should never have been placed in. (Seriously, what's a human supposed to do when surrounded by fae who want her dead??) The world building was top-notch, and I was a show more little sad when I reached the end and had to leave it. I can't wait for book two, and get to see more of the world and see Lor again. show less
Not Safe for Work was such a wild ride, in the best way. Nisha brought the heat, the sass, and the drama, and I was here for it. This book is fast-paced, flirty, and full of tension that had me flipping pages like my life depended on it. It’s got that enemies-to-lovers energy with just the right amount of chaos.
The banter? Elite. The chemistry? Off the charts. I loved how bold and unapologetic the characters were. They’re messy, ambitious, and totally magnetic. It’s the kind of romance show more that makes you laugh one minute and fan yourself the next. Definitely lives up to the title, NSFW in all the best ways.
I gave it 4 stars because while I loved the vibe and the spice, there were a few moments where I wanted just a bit more emotional depth. But honestly? It was still a blast. If you’re into workplace drama, fiery romance, and characters who don’t hold back, this one’s for you.

Thank you so much, Nisha and Second Sky, for providing me with an ARC of this AMAZING book. I would literally read your grocery list and beg for more.

The world building and magic system in this book is ~chefs kiss.~ I truly found myself invested in every little storyline because I couldn't predict what was coming!!! Even when I thought I had figured something out, I found out pages later that I was so, so wrong.

I have no idea how I'm supposed to wait for the next book. What's going to show more happen with the blight? Is being able to wield darkness actually a good thing? WHY IS RABIN PRETENDING HE DOESN'T LIKE HER?!

Also, I am a Yasen fan girl for life. I will not be taking any questions.

For 5 years Trishara has been passed over for promotion after promotion in favor of the "Corporate Bros." even though she has more than proven herself at the engineering firm she works at. She's about ready to throw in the towel when she's offered a spot at a 3-week training retreat in Maui, the only drawback she has to attend with her office enemy and boss's son: Rafe Gallagher

This is my first book by Nisha Tuli but I sped through this so fast. I now want to see how her other books measure show more up.

I loved everything about this read. First and most notably, the relationship between Tris and Rafe was perfection. The slow burn between them, the searing eye glares everything was on point and the emotional payoff was so satisfying. This may have also been helped by the fact that these two clearly have made assumptions about the other that have clouded their initial perceptions. Which, of course, nothing helps break like a case of the only-one-room/bed trope!

What really made the book for me was, I think, the overall commentary about women carving out space in fields normally dominated by men - in this case, a woman of color in a field dominated mainly by white men - and how hard they have to work for even a little of the recognition that seems to be more freely given to those men. We see Tris struggling with this throughout the entire book and it was frustrating but also, unfortunately, relatable. I felt every disappointment and could feel how weary she had become with the constant fight. I felt the truth in the story and seeing Tris not afraid to use her voice and not easily cowed and the way she stands up for herself an tries to call out the the injustices she sees just made me love her all the more.

This book was probably the surprise read of the year so far for me. I was thinking it would be a regular enemies to lovers romance read, but it was so much more than that, and that makes me incredibly happy that it piqued my interested in the first place.
