Locals know best. Fran Hurcomb does Old Town Yellowknife proud with her superb pictorial history of one of the most independent, frontier-wise and urbane neighbourhoods in Canada.
The driver shut the motor off and just sat there, very still. We froze in our places. He pulled off his helmet and looked around without leaving his machine.
