I think this offers a lot of insight and truth about people and relationships, but those elements contribute to why I find the characters hard to like and their relationship difficult to root for. I'm intrigued and invested in the rest of the story, but I'm not sure how I hope it will end. Both Maki and Midori are very immature, and while I would like to believe that Midori's situation will allow them to grow, I can also see ways their story could end tragically.
In a story like this, it might be easy to be wary of a returning love interest like Midori. But I felt myself slipping right back into the romantic yearning along with Maki. It's an emotional, heartfelt story, that makes me want to keep reading more. I found it interesting that the manga shows various characters' points of view.
Battan has a unique art style, with a gift for adding a magical feeling to mundane scenes. Rose Padgett's translation flows naturally, and I appreciated the show more translation notes in the back for added context. Overall I think it's a good manga, especially for those looking for a yuri romance that's set outside of high school. show less

WHY IS SHE PREGNANT??? AND BY SUCH A LOUSY PIECE OF CRAP AT THAT? I HATE HIM. I can't even say this unrealistic because it isn't. I freaking hate it here. and ofc her comphet causes self destructive tendencies which bleed out onto the people around her. I dont really like Midori all that much but i understand and I feel sad for her. Nobody deserves to go through pregnancy alone. BUT YOU CANT MESS WITH PEOPLE'S HEARTS LIKE THIS
This volume reminded me so much of Vol. 5 of Nio Nakatani's "Yagate kimi ni naru" only with grown women instead of high schoolers. Just all around I really liked the introspection and companionship in this installment, and I've found myself doubling down on rooting for Maki and Midori. :)
