This book whisked me back into the mesmerizing world of Evaline Manor, where her magical journey takes an unexpected turn after her daring escape. Samantha's storytelling prowess shines as the tale resumes from the heart-stopping cliffhanger of the first book. Evaline, Maddox, and Wyott's adventure is a rollercoaster of emotions, weaving fate, love, and sacrifice into a gripping narrative. The characters' growth and the unveiling of dark family secrets kept me glued to the pages. Samantha show more masterfully expands the series' lore, introducing intriguing new perspectives and captivating plotlines. The intense emotions, well-developed characters, and the seamless interplay of fate and love make this a standout fantasy romance. From fated mates to ancient enemies, every element is expertly crafted. As a fan of paranormal adventure, vampires, and romance, I was utterly enthralled. This book is a must-read, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Evaline's enchanting saga. show less
The FML was so annoying, constantly running away and towards danger. The lack of communication was so frustrating that I was actually screaming while listening in the car. I could totally predict the cliff hanger. Both are always "fine" even though they are clearly in pain or bleeding or having a mental breakdown. I don't think I have the tolerance to read the second book. The plot and main idea are great but it's life the FMLs trauma continues to repeat despite her being strong with a show more fighting spirit. The ML is basically a good vampire and the enemy is a murdering bad vamp show less
This book is fantastic! Once I started, I couldn't stop listening. Auri Alden's narration and Tor Thom's captivating voice made the characters come alive. Evaline is a relatable and realistic heroine, while Maddox is a swoon-worthy male lead. The chemistry between them had me constantly smiling and gasping. Although there were some frustrations with the protagonist's actions, the storyline kept me engaged. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series. I highly recommend this show more audiobook, especially with the incredible narration by Tor Thom and Auri Alden. show less
