Rory Maxwell

Well I enjoyed this a bit more than the novella introducing two of these guys as we at least got a bit more backstory for Ryan. The narrative framework here was interesting as usually you'd see alternating chapters between the three POVs, but here Nick got 12 chapters, Micah got 9, and Ryan only 3; it did make it a little difficult to really see how their interactions were affecting them, but it still worked somewhat for me. There was a plot and villain and big fix at the end, and yet it was show more still fairly vague (the only word I could come up with for the previous novella by this author); wondering if that's my takeaway and interested to see if the next book is the same, so I'll see. show less

This was a very vague yet still somewhat enjoyable read, and I really just wanted to see how Micah and Ryan came together because apparently the next book is them finding a third which sounds interesting. I do hope we learn more though about these two as they obviously fell for each other, but we barely have any character development (pining happens without conversations, apparently Ryan hates his dad but I don't think we find out why exactly, there's no explanation at all about the time show more lapses or what happened during them). Oh well it oddly still worked for me so I guess I was in the right mindset for a so-so read... show less
