I loved book one, and was excited to see what book two of the series would have in store for me, and I wasn’t disappointed! Creslyn and Drake were an amazing new couple, with their own challenges to grapple with, as we’re once again transported back to a beautiful, magical world. The weather might be getting colder in here, but the spice between them warmed things up (might want a cold drink for this one). I also loved their banter - it's clear they were meant to be, and you get to see show more them, the light and the dark parts. You really feel like you’re watching a movie unfold before your eyes as you read, the descriptions are so vivid. The story moves along at a smooth, quick pace, but those steamy scenes aren’t necessarily flying by either. If you’re looking for a romantasy to really immerse yourself in that will get your kindle sweating, this is one you don’t want to miss! show less
Y'all, I cannot tell you how much I want to step into this beautiful world Raymer has created - the setting, the characters, the magic, I want to just explore it and meet everyone first hand! I loved Novalise from the start, she's an amazing character, and it's easy to like her. Asher could be so infuriating at times, I just wanted to shake some sense into him. Of course, things are rarely simple, and the tension in the book isn't only between these two. (Although you could cut that tension show more with a knife). The story moves along at a good pace, with just enough twists to make you reluctant to stop reading once you start. Overall, cannot recommend enough for those who love tense, steamy, romantasies with gripping storylines and unforgettable characters! show less
I loved all the spicy goodness that was happening between Maeve and Tiernan. A enemies to lovers vibe. Although, I have to agree with Maeve about her feelings towards Tiernan. At times he could be so infuriating with his indifferent attitude and at a flip of the switch he would give off sexy vibes that just made you want to grab him and kiss him. For which, this kept things very entertaining where Maeve and Tiernan are concerned.

I loved seeing Maeve discover her abilities and magic. There show more is a lot going on in this book, but it is easy to keep everything straight. It moves at a good steady, fast pace. Although, it is the second half of the story where more of the action takes place. Beware the cliffhanger ending! Looking forward to finishing this series. show less
