Short summary:

After the events of Ravage, Avery and the boys are finally free from Lilydale, but that doesn't mean everything is suddenly okay. They have to deal with the aftermath of everything they endured and figure out how to move forward with their lives.

As they begin rebuilding, the characters are forced to confront their trauma, their pasts, and the damage Lilydale left behind. Relationships continue to deepen, emotional wounds begin to heal, and the group grows even closer.
show more Throughout the book, they support each other while trying to create a future that once seemed impossible.

By the end, many of the major storylines are resolved, and the characters finally get the chance to find peace and happiness after everything they have been through.

I absolutely loved this book.

At this point, I was completely attached to these characters. After everything they had suffered throughout the series, I just wanted them to be happy, and seeing them finally get some peace was incredibly satisfying.

One thing I really appreciated was that the book took time to deal with the aftermath of everything that happened before. A lot of series rush to the ending, but this one allowed the characters to actually process their trauma and start healing. Because of that, the emotional moments felt much more meaningful.

The relationships were easily one of the strongest parts of the book. Watching these characters support each other and grow closer after everything they survived together was incredibly rewarding. It felt like a payoff for everything that had happened throughout the series.

I also continued to love the audiobook. The narrators did such a great job that by this point, their voices were the characters for me. They added so much emotion to the story and made the experience even better.

Final Thoughts:

This was exactly the ending I wanted. It was emotional, satisfying, and gave the characters the happiness they deserved after everything they had endured. I ended up loving this series far more than I expected, and this book was the perfect way to say goodbye to these characters.

The amount of sex in this book. I am sore on Avery’s behalf and I’m just reading!! If I’m limping it’s just from an overly active imagination!! Poor Avery!!

My main concern, especially with all the sex, is that Avery associates “love” with sex. Being “whole” and complete with “sex”. There is hardly anymore character development between characters except for the way in which they have sex (which, by the way, are Theo and Grey actually enjoying each other’s “company”? show more 🤔 I mean, Avery could be getting in between their own relationship.)

But the story is still pretty amazing. And in the end she does get healed and learns what real healing is so she can heal others.

This is an additional gripping perspective from Levi's POV, an essential character in the Black Spades series; please read previous books first. As the son of the infamous Grim Reaper, Levi is tasked with an undercover mission that becomes complicated when he develops feelings for his target's best friend. Despite being a novella, the story deepens into Levi's internal struggles and adds emotional depth to the original series. It's a must-read for those who enjoyed the Black Spades series.
Well... I'm an emotional wreck.
I feel like I went through every single emotion with them. The pain, the guilt, the fear.
I miss them already.
This series has emotionally screwed me up.
I feel empty.
This series is top of my list. I would love nothing more than to reread them all for the first time again.
