This is a good book to use to narrow in on dayhike possibilities in the Cascades.
I have found that trail conditions vary almost yearly so the rating is correct on some, probably off on others. This is certainly true of the easy hikes in Rainier, a companion publication. I give it a 4-star rating for this reason only. The publication was six years ago, a lot of time for trail conditions to change. But I recommend this book as the best place to start choosing your hike.
