A short book telling the story of a baby born with extremely severe cerebral palsy after his mother was injured in a car accident just before the birth was due.
Jonathon has virtually no physical control over his body, but his brain is still there. He is a loved part of the family, and, with the insurance assistance flowing from the accident, he gets plenty of carers who manage to develop a means of communication - he looks at letter or words, and a carer records them. Excruciatingly slow - show more but incredibly important to young Jonathon. He is able to participate in the world!
Amazing, and very moving stuff!

One of the most moving books you will ever read. Jonathan has severe cerebral palsy and is totally non-verbal yet he learned to communicate through eye-gaze, totally unlocking the world in and out. This is Jonathan's story, in his own words, at age 12.
Appearances are deceiving. Don't judge the person by the wheelchair or other visible disabilities, especially when that person is a child. Don't limit them to YOUR expectations!
An auto accident, a detached placenta, an emergency birth, cerebral palsy, kidney failure, kidney transplant, multiple admissions to ICU, needing oxygen forever, meeting Jesus in the garden, Locked in Syndrome, needing to communicate, learning to read, bringing the message that all need to be taught to the maximum of show more their abilities not the minimum.
Jon has lived through all of this and much more, but he is ever forward thinking and has written this book at the age of 12 ! Buy it, read it, talk about it!
