Really Woolly: My First Easter is a uniquely shaped board book with a cut-out handle. The eggs bows, and Easter grass on the cover have a glittery texture. I adore the message, illustrations, and layout. Each turn of the page gives a sweet poem, a corresponding verse, and a one-sentence prayer.

The rhyming poems have a lilting cadence, making them fun to read, with titles of: The Joy of Spring, The Joy of Rain, The Joy of New Beginnings, The Joy of Growing, The Joy of Easter, The Joy of show more Jesus, and The Joy in My Heart.

The book exudes joy and the wonderful blessings during springtime and Easter. The adorable illustrations include a lamb, bunny, and duckling, along with a few friends they meet along the way. The poems capture the uniqueness of Eastertime, with rainbows, rain, blossoms, gardens, and of course the Easter story of the Resurrection. The perfect Easter Basket gift for little ones.

Beautifully crafted and easy to read, this devotional was a pleasure to read. Each chapter is a different topic with scripture and personal stories or those from the Bible. I liked the chapter on joy because it clearly defined the term with a scripture. We all go through trials but of course we aren’t thrilled with it. We grow stronger from those trials and it gives us a way to share with others. When we talk with someone about their struggles we can relate to them if we have overcome what show more they are facing now.

Based on the book of James each chapter gives us hope, joy and encouragement. In between some of the chapters we find “Pausing for Proverbs.” This was refreshing to read and reminds us “be among the wise, and acknowledge flow from us like spring water.” This would make a wonderful gift for someone. Grab an extra copy to bless someone with this nice devotional to help them find joy.

JOY. This is one of my favorite words and this new book helps me understand it even more! In this new devotional, author Anita Higman shares 90 devotions to help us understand that joy is possible, even during seasons of trouble and trials.

These well-written devotions focus primarily on the Book of James, but there are some based on Proverbs. I like that each two-page devotion has scripture, reflection, and a prayer, and I love that they're loaded with hope and encouragement. This beautiful, show more hard-cover book is a wonderful addition to my Bible study time and the beautiful appearance makes it a perfect book for gifts. Pure Joy is truly a joy!

My sister and I have been using this devotional as part of our daily FaceTime call. We have both enjoyed it immensely as we learned from the book of James and also the parallel teachings in Pausing for Proverbs included. Each day includes scripture, a short interesting devotion, and a prayer. We found it a great tool to grow in our knowledge and to share the word of God. The cover is so pretty and looks nice on my coffee table for others to pick up and enjoy. Short daily readings but show more powerful. I recommend adding to your Bible study time and applying to your daily life.
