The book is a kick in the creative pants. It extolls the virtues of freedom, looseness, change, and cross pollination to get the artistic juices flowing. It comes at that message with suggestions from every angle imaginable and therewith is a bit repetitious. The resistant reader, however, needs some of that. It's a bit overwhelming to read through but I could see it as a very good resource for those lulls in the creative process
Amazon: This is more than a book on creativity but also a book about the psychology of the artist as the book also deals with painters block, dealing with criticism, the purpose of being a painter, states of consciousness and childhood origins of the artist.
