This is the first book I have read from this author and wow.

It does have triggers so make sure you check them first.

The boys are in a forced harem and the emotion and love between all 7 (who have rainbow names) is beautiful but the main story is between Red and Brodie (a healer who infiltrates the harem) to rescue the boys!

The 'owner' of the harem ..oooh what a smarmy, disgusting person

This is a paranormal mm romance with a variety of paranormals represented.
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this one because Sothbridge was such a jerk in the previous book. But I did. This definitely sticks to the formula I've enjoyed from the beginning of this series. Colby is a spitfire. He was engaged to be married to another man but he died... and Colby desperately wanted a husband. He set up a trap to catch another eligible Mage but it was Sothbridge who ended up falling for it. I liked the back and forth... such confusion and angst.
When Charlie is rescued and taken to Archie... it's like he's been whisked away to the upside down. The work is comes from is confining and brutal and steeped in traditions that are archaic at best. Lots of hurt and comfort in this... the progression of the relationship is lovely... more tidbits about the vessel's capabilities are revealed.
First of all.. I enjoyed this series. I may not leave reviews for all of the books, but I've read the entire series. I really like the author's magic system and the slow reveal of more information about it as the series continues. I must say that Fen and Xander remain one of my favourite partnerships in the series. I loved the fireworks between them and the spice. Great story and kicks off the series with a bang!
