Istanbul, Turkey, has such an incredibly rich history with magnificent architecture that it’s impossible to walk away without a book for the bibliophile. Organized by location, it has a brief introduction of its history – good-bye Emperor Theodosius I in 395 and hello to Constantinople, capital of the East Roman Empire, better known as the Byzantine Empire. Though this is a fairly standard photo book with a good balance of descriptions, I have a particular affinity for this as it show more features the vast majority of the places I visited in Istanbul. It’s been nearly a year since I’ve been to Turkey. How time flies. Sadly, after my visit is when all the terrorist bombings started. Wishing peace for the people of Turkey. show less
