If you live in Italy, or have lived in Italy, then this book is for you. If you have tentative plans to visit Italy, then this book is also for you. If you were looking for a fun and interesting personal life experience type of story to read about traveling, foods and wines in Italy, then this is NOT the book.

Dry reading! The stories were more of the history and descriptions of the different areas of Italy, not really personal experiences. The wines she writes about are a few select wines show more from particular vineyards in Italy. This would have been better as a beautiful tabletop picture book of all the different places described, and of the different grapes and wines and Italian foods she wrote about.

Although, my interest did perk up when reading about Pulia, a town after my own heart, resting in the heel of Italy where their daily schedule seems to be much like my own. The people work hard in the mornings. They fish or farm and take siestas from 1:00 to 6:00. I doubt they actually slept that long, but it's hard to get moving again after busting your ass all morning. When gardening season hits in the heat of the summer here in Southeast Texas, this is pretty much my schedule. show less
