My all time favorite record, booze soaked, sad, bleak and funny, beautifully performed, before his voice took on the gargles with Draino sound. This is just about perfect. The songs, the order of the songs, the overall after-hours mood, and the closing title track, all perfect. Talked about this album a lot before it came out on CD, and one day someone left a cassette tape of it in my mailbox--still no idea who did it. Finally found the CD at B-Side Records in Madison in 1990. This is the show more remastered version, released 3/26/2018 show less
He was well on his way to just plain weird here, but some good songs, and the weirdest cut of all, "What's He Building In There?" became a favorite. I have no explanation for this. Last thing of his I bought.
Amazing live performance of almost all new songs, a killer take on "Big Joe and Phantom 309." Also contains one of my favorite quotes: "I'm so horny the crack of dawn better watch out around me."
Nice live set from the radio, more an historical curiosity than anything
