manga series (orig. published 2010, English translation c2017) - after years of neglect from her dad, 17 y.o. Mao goes to live with her childhood friend, 23 y.o. Hirokun, whose parents died suddenly a few years ago and who misses his younger siblings (Hina and Daiki) that now live with relatives. As two lonely young people, Mao and Hiro enjoy having each other around as their found family, but as time goes on develop unspoken romantic feelings as well. The ongoing twist in this melodramatic show more soap story is that Hirokun is a secret fan of the "House of the Sun" online novel, which is Mao's secret autobiographical work written under the pen-name Solami, only Hiro thinks his pretty/flirty co-worker Sugimoto is the author.

😭 the part where Mao receives her first curfew rule, and is delighted because it means someone would miss her if she didn't come home!

I liked this story and the cliffhanger at the end of vol.1 definitely makes me want to keep reading.

Chapters 05 - 08: I am really enjoying this series and getting to know Atsumori and Nishiki better as well as seeing how both their characters and relationship have developed so far. I look forward to seeing what happens next in the series.

Chapters 01 - 04: This looks like it is going to be a really interesting series and I look forward to reading more and getting to know all the characters better.
