Two warring factions in a starship colonise a planet they call Aquestria that is not their original destination. The planet's ecosystem starts to die for no understandable reason and a man with a cut-out tongue is found near death in the jungle. Story does not get much above cliche level. In a biographical note, the author enthuses about the Rare Books Room at the British Library as a venue for his writing. Does he not realise that this is a waste of a unique resource? Why not use one of the show more many quiet nooks provided in the massive building? show less
Fisher is a prospector down on his luck in the Kuiper Belt with a family to support. Out of blue comes a message from a long-lost research station and things start to look up. Or do they?
