Let me sum it up this way: can't wait to read part 2. Lucky for me, I've already been approved by the publisher :)
I did enjoy this book. Good characters, good story, good drama, funny in parts, exciting in others.
Aric is smoking hot, mr dream guy. Heidi is not quite sure about that yet, and you can't help but yell at her to finally make up her mind and grab the guy. Guy's like Aric don't come along every day.
I liked the setting, as young people starting out in news reporting, the book show more focused on career building and not just on their after hours love life. show less

I devoured Crimson Storm in a day's time... and immediately regretted it for the wait until March!
It picks up roughly a year after the events of Crimson Born and immediately finds Abi and her friends in trouble, making for a quick read of nonstop action and suspense as they try to find their way to safety.
So many things happened in this book that I didn't even know I absolutely *needed* to have happen... but Amy Patrick, being the amazing storyteller that she is, winds her plots to equally show more mend and break readers as they make their way through. We're starting to see both sides to the human-vampire world, and it's sure to make for increasing complications in the books ahead.
While the book doesn't leave on a cliffhanger per se, it does most definitely lead up to the next one, which I'm eagerly waiting for. Neither this book, nor the first, should be approached as a standalone, so do yourself a favor and grab Crimson Born before jumping into this one.
As with anything from this author, I'd highly recommend. show less

This is the second book in the series, and it's just as good as the first. Possibly even a little bit better, and I can't wait to read the next installment.
The writing is excellent. Easy to read, conversational tone, engaging and fast paced. There are no boring or slow parts in the book, and it's rare for me to read every single page. Usually there are always parts i skim or skip.
It's a nicely developing romance between 2 likeable and believable characters. You kinda expect them to get show more together at the end, but that's what you expect from a romance book. It was still a great story and can be read as a stand alone. show less
