This convenient little box contains 3 books:
- Pocket Style Guide
- Roget's A-Z Thesaurus
- Compact Office Dictionary
One doesn't of course read these books like other books, but consults them when in need of certain information.
Pocket Style Guide is your source for grammar and punctuation. You learn about different kinds of sentences, about the parts of a sentence, about e.g. compound words and so on. There is also explanation on how to write such or such a sentence, what to pay attention to, show more ... In the Pocket Style Guide there's also a list of abbreviations and not only metric ones.
The Thesaurus is convenient for obvious reasons: to look up synonyms, antonyms, technical terms, colloquial expressions, and more. A very nice tool, not just for native English speakers.
Last but not least, the Compact Office Dictionary: no explanation needed, right? It's a dictionary, but here and there you will find a little drawing to show what that particular word / term represents, means. At the end there are a few pages on weights and measures, the international system of units, and pronunciation.
Of course you can find lots of this info on the Internet, but it's still a must to have a hard copy available in case you don't have Internet access where you are or when your Internet connection is broken, for example. This little box is an ideal companion, in my humble opinion. show less

Webster's New World College Dictionary
This is a useful book to have around and a dictionary is the first reference and second overall book one should have. This dictionary has all the advanced features that it could have I think and would be a useful addition to your library.

It's a dictionary, what more do you want? It's a bit dated, but it works.
