This edition of this book is now so out of date that I wouldn't recommend it for teaching, but if you just want a more reliable source for the basics of the field, and you see this at a secondhand bookstore at a good price, then I guess it'd be alright.
Great diagrams which always helped me in making more sense of some concepts in genetics.
very introductory: Covers the topics very basically. Good for an undergrad class but not anything more.
