“A Floral Grimoire” by Patricia Telesco is packed with so much useful plant information. From properties of different flowers, plants for magic and healing throughout history all the way back to the old gods, green magic and communing with plants, moon cycles, making gardens, moon gardening, aromatherapy, making drinks and foods with plants with recipes, handcrafts like air fresheners and candles, floromancy, oracle cards, spells and charms. As a beginner this book has so much show more information that I need to start using in my daily life. The layout and information in the book were easy to understand and is completely worth the read and having on your bookshelf. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars, I wish the cover was a bit more aesthetic. show less
Labyrinths, with their intricate and mesmerising patterns, seem exquisitely designed to lead those who enter them to lose their way. But labyrinths are actually pathways to spirital discovery, their patterns giving form to concepts that transcend language. Walking a labyrinth is an activity that anyone can undertake to better understand the worlds of mind, body, and spirit. In this fascinating book, you will find the history of early European, Eastern, and Native-American labyrinths, mazes, show more and mandalas, and how to use these forms as tools to engender prayerful attitudes,to deepen intimacy, mediative states, and spiritual focus, and ultimately to establish personal wholeness and spiritual fulfillment. Discover... The secret of your inner labyrinth. How to walk a maze to manifest your goals. How to use mandalas for earth healing. I have given this book the lowest rating I can for several reasons. Among them the history the author quotes with authority is often demonstrably wrong. So is the mythology referenced frequently incorrect and muddled. The author frequently quotes "experts think" or "evidence suggests" with no further explanation (often on things that are contradicted by the slightest bit of research).

Also in the "Purrfect Pet" chapter, specifically in the "Pet Health" section, there are a number of very bad show more suggestions advised here - including in no less than four separate places suggesting that one feed one's cat garlic (for general health, as part of a 'homemade vitamin supplement', to deter fleas, to treat worms); garlic is toxic to cats, as are all of the allium family to varying degrees. show less

A book about not only how and where witches and pagans can find support and information online, but how to make your computer space into a sacred altar and work magick over the ‘net, how to protect your computer from viruses and other attacks magickally as well. There was, as always, ‘some’ good information here to be gleaned, but much of it was outdated in that the book is several years old—though admittedly the authors do list that as a caveat right at the beginning. The magickal show more information is pertinent, though most of it wasn’t really practical in my own case since I’m not the only one using the computer. I’ve decided to trade the book off after taking a few notes from it. show less
