Michael Challinger

This was a really satisfying book, on a number of levels. Exotic locale - Aussie expats in PNG. Humorous. Well written. Perfect pitch, excellent dialogue. Great characters. Finally and most importantly, tightly written and well plotted. A really, really good read that I didn't want to end. Reminded me of the best of Evelyn Waugh. Obviously this book hasn't been marketed the way it deserves, it is by far the best and most enjoyable Aussie novel I've read in a very long time.
