I didn't much like the smarmy and elitist record store clerks in the old High Fidelity movie, and I don't much like the ones in this graphic novel. The droning on and on about musical artists and albums I had never heard of didn't make me want seek them out, it just put me to sleep.

It was too late, but the book finally turned a corner with the final chapter when it left the record store and let the main music nerd spend time with his brother and his record collection in their shared show more apartment. I could relate to a collection that takes over one's living space with a value that goes well beyond mere cash.
